Wisconsin, 403,378, Northwestern, 23 or so: Unspeakable Horrors Thread

Vomiting_medium

I'm still watching, but I'm not waiting for the end of this game to put this post up.

This is a guy named Francis the Vomiting Man, who Seth from Posting and Toasting used to put up when the Knicks were losing by 25-40 points against other NBA teams. On this site, his name will be Amado. Welcome, Amado the Vomiting Man. We shall be good friends for years to come.

question

do bowls count in statistical records? i.e. does persa still have hope for the big ten completion record if tolzien goes like 1-10 in the bowl game?

by Rodger Sherman on Nov 27, 2010 5:31 PM CST reply actions

Season Kaput

We had an OK season. When Persa went down, that was it. We have no right to be going to a bowl game because if you can’t go 4-4 in your league, you should stay at home. Unfortunately, the rules are otherwise. I won’t be watching and I won’t be cheering for where ever we go. But I will be renewing my season tickets. Go cats!

sort of agreed

it will be kind of bittersweet if this – after two spectacular years – was the bowl nu won. but no complaints from me.

It's odd that I was asked the season ticket renewal question tonight

and the only reason why I wouldn’t is if I move, which is likely. Still keeping them though.

Honestly I don't feel that bad about this game

Northwestern wasn’t going to beat this Wisconsin team under any circumstances. I don’t really care if it wasn’t that close.

The Purdue loss still stings though. At least Minny beat Iowa :)

Nowhere near as bad as Georgia Tech over Cumberland, 222-0

Why am I watching this stupid game?

Kudos to Bucky

They’re at the top of their game and we’re …. not.

so fitz tries to take positives out of games right?

its going to sad to see him try to take positives from this one

by chicagosport on Nov 27, 2010 7:37 PM CST reply actions

there's positives to take away

you just have to acknowledge that wisconsin is a way way better team than nu and focus on beating teams at nu’s level.

by Rodger Sherman on Nov 27, 2010 8:22 PM CST up reply actions

No NU team in the last decade would have beaten Wisconsin today

and no more than 5 in the country this year would have had a shot. The manner of losing was rather rough, but a loss is a loss.

They travel better than us

so yes they are. They were also a lot better in conference play too.

Running game was surprisingly effective

Our much maligned O-line was blowing big holes for our RBs in the first half. Wasn’t expecting that.

Just an ugly game

Wisconsin didn’t need to run up the score today the way we kept turning over the ball….seven turnovers…..gheez……just ugly. I’d like to be critical of the defense, but time of possession tells the story. Our offense just couldn’t get anything going and kept turning over the ball. Our defense was out on the field most of the game. Perhaps my expections were too high going into the season, but after the 5 – 0 start, this has been a very disappointing second half (other than the Iowa game). Dan Persa’s injury has shown just how much depth this team doesn’t have, and how young and immature this team is.

I still want to see the Cats win a bowl, but we are going to have to face a really weak opponent this year if we want to change that trend.

Still proud of my school and love my Cats, but going 2-5 the final seven games of the season has been difficult to watch.

Tough day.

7-5 overall with some very close losses is still relatively good and the recruiting class looks good so far. Go Cats! win the bowl game.

(Real) Havey Pekar: I felt more alone that week than any. Sometimes I'd feel a body lying next to me like an amputee feels a phantom limb. All I did was think about Jennie Gerhardt and Alice Quinn and all the decades of people I had known. The more I thought, the more I felt like crying. Life seemed so sweet and so sad, and so hard to let go of in the end. But hey, man, every day is a brand new deal, right? Just keep on working and something's bound to turn up."
