PrintLook, I forgot to send out the email to my compatriots for tomorrow's game about what they think about Northwestern Michigan State tomorrow, but on the plus side, you've got me. (Herm/Loretta/MT, the comments section is yours.)

Michigan State, quite frankly, is terrifying. Their defense, by any metric, is one of the best in the game, only allowing 15.3 points per game (No. 5 in the country), 4.07 yards per play (No. 3 in the country) 5.5 yards per passing attempt (No. 5 in the country) and, well, that's not good. Jerel Worthy murders humans every day. And this isn't even mentioning their offense, led by senior and accurate passer-guy Kirk Cousins. Besides a crushing defeat by Nebraska - who we beat, by the way, -and what I consider a fluky loss to Notre Dame, they've been exceptional.
I believe, but, you know, just not that much. I'd really love to see NU finish the season with a five-game winning streak and cement a bowl berth, but, this is a prediction, not a fantasy. NU will have a surprisingly good day, but won't pull out the senior day win. I'd give us a 33 percent shot at victory the way we've been playing of late. Here's to Michigan State sleeping after clinching the Legends Division last week and us continuing our hot streak.

MSU - 45; NU - 35
If NU wins, I will have some MAJOR respect for Pat F. If they do not, I still am impressed w/the comeback this season.
But, to be honest, I think MSU is very motivated and could be vying for a strong BCS game and a final top 5 season ranking (if everything breaks well).
But, MSU has a MAJOR history of laying an egg, choking, etc, etc, so I really don’t know.

Got no rational basis for believing the Cats will win except that I really want them to. I figure something like 33-31.

I’m always wrong when it comes to my own teams.
But much love for the Corso clip – that never gets old.

Motivation trumps a team looking ahead…..the Senior Day winning streak trumps Sparty….Persa will never lose in his last home game at Ryan Field….and, fuck it, Northwestern wins just because it would confound NUACo2002 and others that Fitz could have a 5 game losing streak and a 5 game (and growing) winning streak in the same season….
We jump ahead early (which we’ve done all season), with Persa leading the way against a MSU defense that can be beaten through the air (Wilson at Wisconsin, and Gray at Minny both moved the ball well thru the air)….and knowing they’re behind, and with nothing to gain by playing starters, Dantonio and Sparty throws in the towel…..and the students get to rush the field, again.

On that note, I don’t know how Kirk Cousins WON’T pass for 300 yards and at least three scores and MSU WON’T run roughshod over our defense.

Michigan State is a better team. On the other hand, they are playing for what exactly? So why not: Michigan State comes out unmotivated, NU jumps on top early and goes on to win, 27-24.

Just met Jack Marshall and his family….Jack and his sister both got to press the Wildcat “growl growl” button, and we put the scoreboard to Northwestern 99 – MSU 0 for Jack’s benefit…..
