On Michael Thompson's senior day, it was the bench who stole the show.
Alex Marcotullio played the game of his life, going for a career high 18 points and hounding Blake Hoffarber on defense, and Davide Curletti had another excellent game with 12 points, 4 rebounds, 4 assists, and 2 blocks. It was a good thing too, as Northwestern's starters really struggled with their shot, hitting just 11 of 42 field goals on the night. Juice did step up down the stretch though, hitting a couple of dagger threes and all 6 of his free throws.
NU rallied from a 10 point second half deficit for the win, and now get a rematch with the reeling Gophers next week in the Big Ten tournament. The way Minnesota has been playing of late, you'd have to like the 'Cats chances.
