As a result of the Michigan State loss to Michigan that just went final, the Northwestern Men's Soccer team (10-4-4, 3-1-2) have claimed a share of the Big Ten regular season championship for the second consecutive year.

Sure, this year was not quite as exciting as the rising program's first ever Big Ten title last season where they won the championship outright with a Chris Ritter game-winner in the waning moments at Michigan to complete a 4-0-2 run to the crown, but it still counts.

This season, they will have to settle for sitting at home on a computer and winning a share of the title via Gametracker. I don't think Coach Lenahan will complain though (unless he got a gatorade shower on his computer), as Northwestern soccer will now add half of a Big Ten trophy to the two won last year after starting his tenure at NU with a 1-13-3 campaign in 2001.

Northwestern shares the title with Penn State, who will get the #1 seed and bye in the Big Ten Tournament, due to their head to head victory over the Wildcats. The Big Ten tournament begins Wednesday, November 7th at Lakeside Field in Evanston.
