Some links, including Corey Wootton and Sherrick McManis doing it big for the Bears, Jeff Budzien's award candidacy, and beer.
When I have power, I do links posts!
Chicago's NFL Team's Big Ten team: The Chicago Bears got their 52-12 butt-whoopin of the Tennessee Titans rolling in purple fashion, with Sherrick McManis blocking a punt that Corey Wootton returned for a touchdown. Watch here, and read about it here.
#BUDZIEN4GROZA: Jeff Budzien is a semifinalist for the Lou Groza Award. I say pretty confidently that everybody else on that list sucks and that they probably couldn't placekick their way out of a wet paper bag, and if they could, they probably wouldn't be able to do it very accurately or from great length. Buddy Z for emperor.
From the murder capital (one) where we murder for capital (one): The guy who runs the Capital One twitter feed is a Northwestern alum! Unfortunately that doesn't mean much for our bowling chances, but it can't hurt, I guess.
From the stuff I missed without power department: Our very own reverend/DJ/esquire friend wrote about how Kain Colter was the player of the week in the Big Ten against Iowa, because he's totally unbiased. He also shouts out Half-Acre's Daisy Cutter Pale Ale. Not a big pale ale guy, which makes me pretty much the biggest enemy of most beer nerds even though I myself consider myself a beer nerd, but I did have one of those in the beer tent on Dillo when they were charging the same for that as for like Bud Light.
Big Ten(nis): Northwestern's Raleigh Smith won the indoor singles Big Ten title and also won the doubles with Sidarth Balaji. In other news, playing tennis outdoors is for losers and jerks. I see you, Roger Federer, scared to come inside.
