It's Monday, and we know where we're bowling! Let's take a look at some stuff about that.

Evan Watkins Slays Taxes Nightly: Remember, it's the TaxSlayer.com Gator Bowl, which is why this exists. Northwestern football does have a tendency for slaying various things, so I guess now's their time to shine

CLANGA CLANGA CLANGA CLANGA CLANGA: Let's get familiar with For Whom the Cowbell Tolls. They wrapped up bowl selection day here, and wrote about how Northwestern is a two-point underdog, which, well, is interesting. For a nice first look at the Bulldogs, head over to LTP. I'll do the same thing eventually, but mine will be dumber and probably have more jokes about things only I think are funny.

The old bull coach: Steve Spurrier is okay with the fact that his South Carolina team ended up in a bowl against Michigan instead of against Northwestern, and had something to say about that:

Steve Spurrier: "If you beat Northwestern or you get beat by Northwestern, you don’t achieve as much as you do against Michigan."

Look at the cojones on Esteban over here! It's weird Spurrier says that, because whoever it is that makes his coaches poll ballot ballot for him ranked Northwestern seven spots higher than Michigan. What Steve is saying is that regardless of final record or head-to-head meetings, beating Northwestern is always less impressive than beating Michigan. I understand that: we have a rep as a bad team despite recent success, and sometimes that's a bummer. Unfortunately, people from South Carolina and affiliated with the University of South Carolina have exclusively good reputations, so they'll never know what it's like to be dragged down by stupid, outdated assumptions people make based on behavior of those who came before you.
