Northwestern NCAA Tournament Bracketology Update, March 8, 2012

Stay connected for news and updates

Every day, Sippin' on Purple will be taking an updated roundup and look at Northwestern's chances of making the NCAA Tournament. We promise not to jinx it.

Bracket Matrix: 12.0, second to last team in (same as yesterday)

RPI: 49 (same as yesterday)

Kenpom: 51 (down from 50 yesterday)

Sagarin: 51 (same as yesterday)

Big Ten Tournament: Minnesota in the first round today

In or out, consensus: In (barely)

Feeling: Today's the day. I'm headed to Indy, skipping a semi-formal (although to be fair, this is probably going to be way more fun) and, well, on this day what happens could determine Northwestern's tourney chances. They might not - NU isn't a lock with a win - but the win today has to happen. Bummer South Florida won last night, but Seton Hall losing was plenty nice. But my point is, let's go.

Bracketology update: Jerry Palm moved Northwestern up from an 11 seed to a 10 seed, which is making me uncomfortable. Chris Dobbertean still has NU as one of the last four in, specifically, the third to last team in. But what happens today obviously changes everything.
