Sometimes, you type in "Jimmy Hall" and a picture of a player from Michael Thompson's German basketball team pops up in your typically selective photo tool.. (Yes, there are pictures of Juice as well.)
Yesterday I posted "Even Flow" off of Pearl Jam's Ten. I am NOT going to post "Revolution No. 9", tho. Plus, there's not any good songs about like eight.
No. 9, Jimmy Hall, sophomore, safety
Who he be: Jimmy is a safety who played this last season on special teams. Perhaps because his name is so nondescript, I don't remember him getting recruited at all - his name just sorta appeared on the roster - which is very rare for me. But it turns out he did: he was a three star recruit with a buncha offers - West Virginia, Vandy, Syracuse, Boston College, Maryland, Connecticut, Indiana, Colorado. (The rare trifecta of non-conference offers, y'all.) Anywya, the Toldeo native played both ways in high school and was recruited to NU as a receiver, where he played his redshirt season. But he converted to safety after his freshman year, and has been there since, playing mainly on special teams this past year.
Jimmy Hall, from Wikipedia:
Good to know!
Looking forward: The transition from WR to safety isn't exactly typical - you see a lot of RB's move to safety, but WR's are typically more likely to be cornerbacks - but Hall has apparently made the leap well. The 6-foot-2 sophomore has apparently bulked up appropriately and is now in a position battle for the starting gig opposite Ibraheim Campbell, and if I had to guess today, about a week and a half before the season, I'd say he'd be the most likely guy to get it, although there's also Hunter Bates, Davion Fleming, and Jared Carpenter going for the spot. But those guys have all been in the program for years and haven't earned PT, while Hall is a relative newbie - I wonder what he's got in store.
