For the people who say NU needs upgraded facilities in football and basketball to compete, here is an interesting nugget from Chris Emma (great follow on twitter).

Each #B1G has renovations/investment to football facilities in place or completed in last five years. Oh, but not #Northwestern.

Now, I DO realize that facilities have an impact, but I don't think their impact will be as large as fans hope for. No matter what the facilities NU puts in, it will not be so incredible as to outdo many of the B1G schools namely OSU, Mich, Wisc, PSU, etc. So, either way of the coin, the fact remains that NU has not invested in the facilities which brings up the question of how large a priority is it for NU to compete at the B1G level in revenue sports.
