GUYS! IT'S FRIDAY! THERE'S LIKE 28-ISH HOURS UNTIL THIS FOOTBALL GAME BETWEEN NORTHWESTERN AND OHIO STATE!
There's nothing to say about this game that hasn't been said somewhere on the internets. I've written so many damn words! I just want to stop! Unfortunately I still have, not including this one, at least three more posts to write between now and gametime tomorrow. My brain hurts. Is that okay? Should I get that checked out?
Without further ado, it's time for us to predict:
OSU has some defensive weaknesses that NU should be able to exploit, especially with a new safety in the lineup. The problem is that Northwestern's defense has more weaknesses and the OSU offense is the best unit in this game. NU will keep it close for a while with the help of a couple of turnovers, but OSU wins comfortably in the end.
Ohio State, 45-34
Soggy conditions will slow down OSU's speed and gum up the works. It'll be sloppy, but the opportunistic 'Cats grab enough turnovers to stifle OSU's offense. Colter gets all the pre-game hype, but Trevor Siemian comes through with a clutch 4th quarter drive. Posts get laked.
Over the years, I've seen too many Ohio State teams come into Ryan Field and beat the hell out of Northwestern to have any optimism at all. But either way, I've got a plan to drink heavily before, during and after this game, and I'm gonna execute that game plan to perfection.
Ohio State 45, Northwestern 21
This one's gonna be a thriller. Both teams have really good offense. I see Ohio State's being a little bit better than Northwestern's. I see Braxton Miller doing horrendous things, and Northwestern pulling out all the stops to keep up. Both Kain Colter and Trevor Siemian play great, with Colter doing something nuts, like lining up next to Siemian in the backfield or catching a touchdown. I see 125 yards for Venric Mark. I see a defensive touchdown.
And I see this:
(The song title, not the still-young Mariah Carey dancing part.)
Don't give up on the Cats for being 4-1, though, if they are.
Ohio State, 41-38
